Gill Blowers in Bloom!
We have recently had a focus on our outdoor areas and supporting our children’s development in Understanding the World.
We called this focus ‘Gill Blowers in Bloom’.
Staff have been working hard to develop the outdoor areas of the nursery to maximise the children’s learning opportunities.
During this time the children have enjoyed having zoned areas where specific learning takes place. For example, the Science lab, the construction area.
Children have been focusing on planting, observing growth, caring for living things, and tasting the things they have grown.
The outdoor environment is an extension of the learning inside.
The children have the opportunity to access the garden during the session and in all weathers.
Meaning that the children are able to observe the ever changing weather and seasons.
