Sign 4 Learning
Sign 4 Learning is a unique initiative that successfully uses signs taken from British Sign Language to increase targeted vocabulary in hearing children.
Sign 4 learning has been written and developed in Luton to raise attainment and accelerate progress in targeted areas of learning.
- It has been showcased in national publications and national and European conferences.
- Traded training has been delivered nationally and internationally.
Why sign? Children learn best when they are actively engaged and with Sign 4 Learning they are not just hearing and seeing key words, but saying and doing them as well.
Children of all abilities may benefit considerably from Sign 4, but may be transformational for children who are behind developmentally, with EAL needs or of lower socio-economic status, and who require additional support in order to catch up with their peers to realise their potential in later life.
